I graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Reading.  I am also certified to teach ESL and school counseling..  I completed my master's degree in counseling and guidance at TAMUK Spring 2016 .

Teaching Philosophy:

 Don't be afraid to fail.

 This is my 19th year teaching at Odem Junior High.   I am the counselor and the junior high UIL coordinator and co-coach of the OJH cheerleaders.   I have taught reading, language, ESL, American History, Pre AP American History and social studies from 6th to 8th grade.  I have loved every minute of my 18 years with OEISD and hope to have many more to come.  It gives me great pleasure to see students grow and graduate from OEISD.  It is even more rewarding when I run into former students and hear how well they are doing in their lives. 

I have been married for 28 years to my husband.  My family includes my daughter and son in law , and grandchildren. We have a plethora of friends and family, who we love spending time with at baseball and football games as well as camping. My hobbies include traveling and reading, of course.
