Principal's Corner

Mrs. Pogue welcome

I am very excited to be starting my first year as principal of Odem Junior High. I taught high school math for 13 years, was an adjunct professor for 4 years, and an assistant principal for 2 years.  Growing up in a small town, I realized that is where I want my children to be. I bring with me a 3rd grader and a 6th grader.

In my spare time, 4am, I enjoy running. I currently average around 40+ miles a week. I am currently training to qualify for the Boston Marathon and running in the Capital 2 Coast, which is a 223 mile relay. This year my team is attempting to be the first all-female team with only 6 members.

I graduated from TAMU-CC in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, in 2004 with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, in 2010 a Master’s degree in Mathematics, and I completed my principal’s certificate in the fall of 2013.

I am looking forward to not only helping educate our children, but building strong successful members of our community. I strongly believe it takes a village to raise a child.
